Assam Govt. To Set Up Farmers Development Corporation

Assam government is planning to set up a Farmers Development Corporation.

An official release said that 1 thousand crore rupees will also be allocated for implementing various schemes for farmers. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi informed this while interacting with 100 farmers in Guwahati Friday.

Declaring the 2015 as Year of Agriculture, Gogoi said that slew of measures have been taken to raise the income of farmers.

The Chief Minister also said that 100 farmers would be given financial assistance who have excelled in their fields. Gogoi released a crop calendar providing inputs on what crops to be sowed throughout the year.
