22 April, New Delhi
The Hyderabad-based International Institute of Information Technology has developed a device for advance assessment of damage to buildings in cities prone to earthquake.
The Lok Sabha was informed Wednesday that the device will indicate the type of damage a building will suffer during an earthquake.
The information on the level of shaking will come from seismological inputs in a particular area. The device is now being tested for its efficacy.
