J&K Court Reserves Final Oder On Bail Plea Of Hardline Huriyat Leadere Masrat To April 25

In Jammu & Kashmir, the Chief Judicial Magistrate Budgam Wednesday reserved the final orders in respect of bail application of hardline Hurriyat leader Masarat Alam Bhat who is facing sedition and other offences under Unlawful Activities & Prevention Act for raising pro-Pakistan slogans and other anti national activities during April 15 rally in Srinagar.
Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Budgam heard the arguments and counter arguments about the bail application and said that final orders will be issued on Saturday April 25.
A group of advocates appeared on behalf of Masarat Alam while Chief Prosecuting Officer (CPO) Budgam also put forth his arguments before the court of Kamlesh Pandita, CJM Budgam as he was not produced before the CJM court by police.
Masarat Alam had submitted a bail application in the court of CJM Budgam on the same day when he was arrested on April 17. The Police had already filed report and objections yesterday on bail application moved by him through his counsel.
Masrat Alam is under detention. Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Peer Saifullah, Ayaz Akbar and few other Hurriyat leaders are also charged in the same case. As Masarat Alam’s remand period expires tomorrow, police will secure extension in his custody to carry on investigations in the case.
