After Farmers Issue, Rahul Takes Up Home-Buyers Problem Ahead Of Introduction Of Real Estate Bill In Parliament
02 May, New Delhi
Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi Saturday met home-buyers from Delhi and NCR region to listen to their grievances. Delayed delivery of flats and allegations of cheating by private builders were discussed during the meeting.
The meeting took place at the Congress headquarters amid party’s criticism of the Real Estate Bill brought by the NDA government.
Later talking to reporters, Gandhi alleged the NDA government is cheating that middle class. He said, the Government is amending the Real Estate Bill in order to benefit the builders, not buyers.
He also charged the Centre with diluting the provisions of UPA draft to favour builders.
Gandhi said, the major difference between the UPA’s Bill and BJP’s proposed Bill is that it lacks transparency. He said, people who are paying for flats, they are not given possession and are made fake promises.
