BJP Slams Rahul Gandhi For Remark Against Real Estate Bill, Terms

BJP on Saturday criticised Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi for his allegation that amendments in the Real Estate Bill are intended to benefit the builders.

The party took a dig at Gandhi saying the bill is aimed at protecting the interest of ordinary home buyers not the builders like Robert Vadra, who has been in controversy over land deals in Haryana and Rajasthan during UPA regime.

BJP spokesperson G V L Narasimha Rao said, the bill has several provisions, including punitive action against builders for violation of norms and action for misleading the buyers. He termed the allegation as baseless and asked the Congress leader to do home work before accusing the NDA government.

Refuting the allegation that middle class is being cheated by the government, Rao said Mr. Gandhi is making such charges just to be in the news. He also said government has taken several steps in the interest of common man and in its 11 month rule the price rise has come down.

The BJP spokesperson also dared Gandhi for a debate over NDA government’s achievements and work done during UPA regime.

Earlier on Saturday, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi during a meeting with home-buyers from Delhi and NCR region charged the Centre with diluting the provisions of UPA draft to favour builders. He alleged, proposed Bill lacks transparency.
