EC withdraws blanket ban on victory processions during and after counting

New Delhi, March 10

The Election Commission has relaxed the guidelines on victory processions during and after the counting and withdrawn the blanket ban on victory processions in view of COVID situation. However, this relaxation will be subject to existing instructions of SDMA and preventive measures, imposed by concerned district
authorities.

The Commission had earlier issued guidelines to regulate various aspects of elections including victory processions during COVID period. As the COVID situation improved, EC gradually relaxed the norms concerning electioneering in consultation with Union Health Ministry and State Governments.
