AAP Backs Kumar Vishwas

Aam Aadmi Party Monday backed its leader Kumar Vishwas over a controversy surrounding the summon issued to him by Delhi Commission for Women on a party volunteer’s complaint.

The woman has moved the Commission claiming that false rumours of Vishwas having illicit relationship with her were ruining her reputation and that he should come forward to clarify.

Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Party spokesperson Sanjay Singh accused the media of twisting the entire story to malign the party’s image. He said, the woman had actually given a complaint to Delhi Police on 31st of March in which she had named four persons, accusing them of maligning her image on social media.

However, Vishwas also termed the woman’s allegations as baseless and put the onus on Delhi Police which he said did not take any action on the woman’s complaint.

Earlier, Delhi Commission for Women, DCW, has summoned Aam Aadmi Party leader Kumar Vishwas over a complaint of a female party member. DCW Chairperson Barkha Singh said, he is expected to appear before the commission tomorrow. Ms Singh said that the girl has sent a complaint letter to Police Commissioner as well as AAP Convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
