AP Seeks Revenue Share From Oil , Gas Produced In KG Basin

Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to seek a share of revenue from the Oil and Gas produced from the Krishna-Godavari-Basin.

The state cabinet decided this at a marathon meeting held under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister for more than 10-hours Monday .

In a resolution, the state cabinet appreciated the centre’s decision to give a revenue share to states in coal blocks. Information and Public Relations Minister Raghunatha Reddy told reporters in Hyderabad that the cabinet has decided to request the centre for a revenue share from the Oil fields in KG basin.

The state Government also decided to give assistance of ten thousand rupees each to the members of Self Help Women groups and it has decided to transfer 4284 crore rupees to their bank accounts in the first phase. The remaining will be given in two instalments. The transfer of funds will commence from next month. It was an election promise made by Telugu Desam Party.

The state Government also decided to build an international airport at Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district and establish an International Airport Company for the same. Besides upgrading airports at Rajhamundry and Tirupati, the cabinet approves setting up five more airports in Nellore, Chittoor, Guntur, Kurnooland West Godavari districts.
