PEB Scam : MP High Court Quashes FIR Against Governor Ram Naresh Yadav

Madhya Pradesh High Court Tuesday quashed the FIR against state Governor Ram Naresh Yadav in the Professional Examination Board scam.

The double bench of Chief Justice AM Khanwilkar and Justice Rohit Arya said that the President and Governor cannot be prosecuted in the court.

Governor Ramnaresh Yadav’s advocate Mahendra Pateria told our Bhopal correspondent that the court maintained that the article 361(2) of the constitution gives immunity to the President and Governors while in office.

Yadav was booked on different counts including 420 of Indian Penal Code on 24th February this year by the STF for his alleged complicity in forest guard recruitment exam conducted by MP Professional Examination Board.

He allegedly recommended name’s of five candidates. In an interim order, the court had stayed the FIR filed against Governor Ramnaresh Yadav on 17th April.
