Veteran journalist Baishnab Charan Jena Passes Away At 68

Veteran journalist Baishnab Charan Jena passed away early hours of Saturday. He was 68.

He breathed his last following a massive heart stroke at his Government Quarter this morning. He was survived by his wife and two sons.

According to sources, Jena suffered a heart attack and lost his life. He was cremated at his paternal village this evening.

Born in Benjarapur village under Bari block in Odisha’s Jajpur district, Jena began his journalism career in 80s.

Senior journalist and columnist Jena was an accreditated Journalist worked  as State-level Correspondent  of number of Odia  news dailies including Pravat Jyoti,Swavhiman, Matrubhasa and Nyaavati.

For some time he was engaged as the Public Relations Officer of  former Speaker of Odisha Assembly, Maheswar Mohanty. Jena was also the Media Advisor of senior Congress MLA from Jaipur, Tara Prasad Bahinipati,

Prior to entering the journalism field, he was the Manager at a Gramya Bank in Koraput. Condolences poured in from various quarters after his demise. Large number of media persons paid their last respect to Jena at his residence.BM
