Will Not Allow FDI In Retail Sector In Delhi: AAP Govt.

13 May, New Delhi

Delhi AAP Government Wednesday said, it will not allow the entry of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the retail sector in the national capital.
An official release said, the stand of Delhi government, which was communicated to the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion of the Union Commerce and Industry Ministry last year, remains unchanged.
It said, Delhi government is of the clear view that the national capital at this juncture is not ready to disturb the character of retail trade. Entry of FDI in the retail sector will be detrimental to the interests of traders and will lead to unemployment.

The release said, Delhi government will reiterate its stand to the central government to remove all ambiguity on the issue, which may arise due to the fresh policy document of the Centre released on Wednesday.
