BS Yediyurappa govt wins trust vote in Karnataka Assembly

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa Monday  proved his majority in the Assembly today winning the Confidence motion by a voice vote.

The Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar declared the motion as passed as numbers favoured the BJP Government.

The Assembly passed the Appropriation bill allowing the Government to draw from the consolidated fund to meet expenditure such as salaries. Yediyurappa has sought vote on account for three months till October.

After deliberating upon the business of the House, Speaker tendered his resignation. Before resigning, he appealed to the members to bring electoral reforms, have a relook at the tenth schedule and plug loopholes in the Representation of People’s Act and Lokayukta Act.
