Oeration Sindoor is symbol of India’s political, social and strategic will: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

New Delhi, May 11
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that Operation Sindoor is not just a military action but a symbol of India’s political, social and strategic will. The defence minister said this after virtually inaugurating the BrahMos Aerospace Integration and Testing Facility in Lucknow.

The defence minister said that Operation Sindoor is a demonstration of India’s strong will against terrorism and also the capability and determination of the military power. The country has shown that whenever India takes any action against terrorism, even the land across the border will not be safe for the terrorists and their masters.

Talking about BrahMos, the defence minister said that BrahMos is a confluence of the highest defence technology of India and Russia. Just as our Uttar Pradesh is known worldwide for the ‘Sangam’ in Prayagraj, in the same way, in the coming times, Lucknow will also be known for the confluence of this technology. In the coming times, it will create direct or indirect employment opportunities, and this region will emerge as a growth centre.

He said that self-reliance in the defence sector has a very broad meaning. India is moving ahead with the idea that India has to make arms and equipment for itself and, at the same time, export them to the entire world.

The defence minister said that after the formation of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, the industrial development of Uttar Pradesh has started afresh. So far, around 180 MoUs have been signed in this Defence corridor, in which an investment of 34,000 crore rupees has been proposed, and so far, an investment of 4,000 crore rupees has already been made in this corridor.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and the brave soldiers of our three armed forces on the success of Operation Sindoor. He said that we have seen a glimpse of the BrahMos missile during Operation Sindoor.
