‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ :P M Modi interacts with students, teachers, and parents,Calls upon parents not to put undue pressure on children for the sake of social status
New Delhi, January 27
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today interacted with students, parents, and teachers during the 6th edition of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ program at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister said, Pariksha Pe Charcha is also his exam as the students take his exam by putting forth various questions before him. Mr. Modi said, he always feels delighted by the questions of students. On the questions by the students for giving the stress-free exam and expectations of parents, the Prime Minister said, it is not bad on the part of parents to have expectations from children but if they do so due to social status then it is not good. He said that the students must link their determination and own strength with the expectations of their parents. He told students that focus is necessary to tackle the expectations.
On completion of various tasks simultaneously and efficient time management, the Prime Minister gave the mantra of adopting micro-management techniques to give sufficient time to various subjects. He said students tend to give more time to their favorite subjects. He suggested the students give priority to those subjects first when they start studying and this will eventually increase their interest in difficult subjects.
Prime Minister also suggested students apply intelligence before starting their work and make a correct assessment of themselves. He said that students must know their potential and then channel their energy. He also suggested the students not to be pressured for not being extraordinary. He said, if anyone is an average person still he or she has something extraordinary. On the criticism, the Prime Minister said, criticism enriches and is valuable for our life learnings. He said, if someone is hardworking and honest, then they should not care about the criticisms because it becomes their strength. He asked the students to learn multiple languages as learning a language opens the door for a student to understand a centuries-old culture, civilization, and experiences. He expressed concern over the use of gadgets saying that people in India spend an average of six hours on screen and this is a matter of concern. He said, ‘No Technology Zone’ must be created at home.
Giving advice to the parents, the Prime Minister urged them to encourage their children to observe and learn about things that are happening around them. He advised that children should not be kept locked in the confines of the house and they should be allowed to do the activities they want to do in society. He also suggested that children must not be arbitrarily interrupted and criticized. He said, parents must criticize in a constructive and positive way.
Giving the teaching mantra to teachers, the Prime Minister asked the teachers to develop a strong bond with their students. He said, if a student is asking questions, it means he or she is curious and teachers should always try to promote their curiosity.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with students at an exhibition during the ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ program. Before the start of the program, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, Pariksha Pe Charcha has become a mass movement. He said that the Prime Minister understands the challenges faced by the students, parents, and teachers and gave his advice to tackle those challenges. He said that National Education Policy and Exam Warrior are preparing the students for the 21st century.
