PM Modi discusses several development projects during interaction with BJP workers; Priyanka Gandhi also interacts with Congress workers

New Delhi, January 18

Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday interacted with the party workers of his parliamentary constituency Varanasi in view of the upcoming assembly elections and asked them to meet every individual in there region and explain them the value of their right to franchise. It was Prime Minister’s first interaction with party workers after announcement of the poll dates in Uttar Pradesh which was conducted in virtual mode.

During his virtual interaction on the NaMo app PM Narendra Modi discussed various development projects going on in Varanasi with the party workers and asked them to make there city clean. He appealed to them to follow COVID related guidelines while canvassing for the party.

Bhartiya Janata Party on Tuesday announced second list of its party candidates for the second phase of elections in state. Party announced candidature of Chhatrapal Gangwar from Baheri and Bahoran Lal Maurya from Bhojipura constituency. Both constituencies fall in Bareilly district where elections will be conducted in second phase.

Other political parties have also intensified their campaigning. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra interacted with party workers virtually. Senior Congress leader and Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel campaigned for party candidates in Mathura district.

Senior leader of Janata Dal United, KC Tyagi today announced in Lucknow that his party will contest elections on maximum seats in Uttar Pradesh in the upcoming elections. Chandrashekhar Azad, leader of Azad Samaj Party also announced to contest elections on 33 seats in the state. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party will launch form filling campaign for 300 units free electricity from tomorrow.
