Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaches United States tonight

New Delhi,  September 21:

rime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Houston in the United States late tonight from Frankfurt. He is expected to land in the US city in the State of Texas at around 2:00 AM Indian Standard Time.

His first engagement in Houstin will be a Round Table Meeting with top US CEOs from energy sector. Later, Indian community representatives are expected to meet Modi.

The Prime Minister will address the Indian community at Howdy Modi event jointly with US President Donald Trump at NRG Stadium in Houston tomorrow. The address will be followed by a community reception.

Modi will leave for New York on 22nd September. He will attend the Climate Action Summit at the UN Headquarters on 23rd September.

The Prime Minister will address a high level meeting on Universal Health Coverage. Mr Modi has convened a meeting of the leaders of India-Pacific Islands on 24th September. Leaders of Fiji, Kiribati, Marshal islands, Micronesia, NUru, Palau, Papua Guinea, Samoa, Soloman Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu & Vanatu will attend the meeting.

At the Economic and Social Councils Chamber at the UN Headquarters, a major attraction the same day will be the dedication to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth bnniversary.

Leadership Matters: Relevance of Mahatma Gandhi in the Contemporary World  is the theme of the event.  Modi will be joined by heads of countries, including President of South Korea, Prime Ministers of Singapore, New Zealand, Bangladesh and Jamaica as well as the UN Secretary General. A special UN postage stamp will be released on thr occasion.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate Gandhi Solar Park at the UN headquarters and Gandhi Peace Garden. Bill and Melinda Gates’ Foundation’s Global Goalkeeper’s Award will be presented to the Prime Minister Modi for his leadership role in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

On 25th September, Modi will deliver the keynote address at the Bloomberg Global Business Forum. It will be followed by the First India-CARICOM leaders Summit at Lotte New York Palace. Leaders from 14 Caribbean Island nations, including Guyana  Surinam, Trinidad & Tobago will attend this meeting.

A series of bilateral meetings have been planned on the sidelines of the UNGA session on 26th September.

Prime Minister will address the UN General Assembly session between 10-11am New York time on 27th September. He will return to New Delhi on 28th September.
