Two National Centres of Excellence in Carbon Capture, Utilization being established in India

New Delhi, February 10

Two National Centres of Excellence in Carbon Capture and Utilization are being established in India. These Centres  are being set up at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bengaluru. These are being set up with support from the Department of Science & Technology.

The Ministry of Science and Technology has said that these Centres will act as multi-disciplinary, long-term research, design development, collaborative and capacity-building hubs for state-of-the-art research and application-oriented initiatives in the field of Carbon Capture and Utilization.

The ministry said that the Centres will help bring together the country’s collective strength and assist in the development of an appropriate and feasible R&D and innovation roadmap.It added that the Centres will also keep watch on international trends and suggest possible collaborative endeavours.
