124 new industrial projects to come up in Haryana

As many as 124 new industrial projects are coming up in Haryana by procuring land as these are among the projects for which Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed during the ‘Happening Haryana Global Investors’ Summit-2016′ at Gurgaon.

When fully implemented, these projects would lead to investment of about Rs 83,487 crore in the state, with employment potential of 1,46,793 people, a Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) spokesman said here Tuesday.

He said following the summit, Haryana had become the first state in north India to attract investment of such a magnitude and had emerged as the preferred investment destination.

He said while 359 MoUs with an investment potential of about Rs 5.84 lakh crore were signed during the summit, more prospective investors later evinced interest in setting up their units in the state, taking the total number of MoUs signed up to 406. There are 145 leads for potential investment. These MoUs and leads have investment potential of about Rs 6.40 lakh crore, with estimated potential to provide employment opportunities to about 5.50 lakh youth in the state, he added.
