13 people infected with swine flu virus in Odisha

As many as 13 people are found to be suffering from swine flu in the till Wednesday.

Director of Health Services Kailash Chandra Das said out of 128 samples examined 13 were tested positive so far.He said the patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals and and recovering fast.

While two of the patients had come from Kalahandi and Jagatsinghpur districts to Bhubaneswar, others are from places close to the State capital, he said.

The Director described the disease as a seasonal influenza and appealed people not to be panicked.He said the state government is fully prepared to deal with any situation.

The Director said public awareness drive is being launched to educate the people about the disease and special wards have been put in place in all the medical college hospitals and Capital Hospital and in district headquarter hospitals to deal with the situation.
