16 highway projects worth Rs 7,456 cr in ten states including Odisha cleared

The Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways today cleared 16 projects worth Rs 7,456 crore here.

Ministry Secretary Sanjay Mitra said the projects of around 622 kms were cleared in the meeting.

These projects would come up in Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Maharashtra, Odisha, Gujarat, Sikkim and West Bengal.

As many as two projects would be constructed on the hybrid annuity mode, 13 on engineering, procurement, and construction mode (EPC) and one on BOT (Toll) mode.

Under the EPC mode, 90 km project length would come up in Odisha, 24 km in West Bengal, 15 km in Gujarat, 80 km in Chhattisgarh, 70 km in Haryana, 60 km in Uttarakhand and more than 120 km in the North East, he said.

These also includes the projects connecting the Char Dham yatra of Uttarakhand.

Bidding for the projects would start soon and after the process of land acquisition, contracts would be awarded, he said.
