5 Naxalites killed in gunbattle with police in the forest of Kosami in Maharashtra

Mumbai, October 18 :

In Maharashtra, five Naxalites were killed in a gunbattle with police in the forest of Kosami in the border areas of Korchi and Dhanora blocks of Gadchiroli district this evening.

Police and C-60 Commandos from the Garapati Police Help Centre were conducting a joint Anti-Naxal operation when Naxals opened fire on the police. As soon as the police responded befittingly, the Naxals escaped through the dense forest.

The police have informed that while inspecting the spot after the gunfire, bodies of 5 Naxals were found.
