India-China Agree To Set Up Task Force To Resolve Export Related Issues : jaishankar

Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar said India and China agreed to set up a high power task force to resolve issues pertaining to Indian exports to China.

He said the task force will look into all issues faced by Pharma, IT, manufacturing and agriculture sectors in exporting their products to China.

Briefing newsmen, Jaishankar said the Prime Minister raised the issue of trade deficit during his talks with Chinese President Xi and the task force will take measures to address this issues.

The Foreign Secretary said, the signing of 24 agreements by China and India reflects the growing bilateral cooperation between the two countries. Addressing a press conference after signing of agreements, the Foreign Secretary said the Prime Minister had substantive talks with the Chinese leadership on several issues and both countries decided to move forward for mutual cooperation.

He said both sides have agreed to establish hotline between the heads of military of both countries to increase defence cooperation. On the occasion Jaishankar made it clear that the ’e-visa’ did not figure in the Prime Minsiter’s talks with the Chinese leadership.
