NDA Govt. Initiates Revival Of AIR : Union Minister Jitendera Singh

Union Minister of State in PMO, Jitendra Singh Tuesday inaugurated the commissioning of 300 KW DRM High Power Transmitter of ‘Radio Kashmir’ at Jammu.

Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister said that Centre is committed to the empowerment of Radio broadcast. He said BJP led NDA government at the Centre has initiated the revival of All India Radio.

He said that understanding the reach and potential of AIR, from the very beginning of the functioning of new government last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi started his regular programme, ”Mann Ki Baat’ on AIR.

He added that with the popularity of the programme, now a days, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has himself become a brand-voice for AIR.

Mr. Singh emphasized that AIR, through its wide reach and linguistic versatility, can play an important role in the dissemination of various welfare schemes initiated by the Centre. Among others, DG AIR Fiyaz Shehriyar was also present on the occasion.
