Good Response To Three New Insurance Schemes Launched BY PM : Arun Jaitley

The Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said that there has been extremely good response to the three new Insurance Schemes launched by the Prime Minister for poor people.
In an exclusive interview to All India Radio on completion of one year of the NDA Government, Arun Jaitley said seven and a half crore people have subscribed to “Pradhan Mantri Jeewan Jyoti Bima Yojana”, “Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana” and “Atal Pension Yojana” in a week or so. He said that the government will come out soon with a new scheme for senior citizens which will be funded through the unclaimed money lying with the Banks and other financial institutions.
Replying to a question on achievements of the government, Jaitley said that last one year has been a year of satisfaction, activities and restoration of transparency in the governance. He reminded that the present government inherited despondency, virtual policy paralysis, bad economic parameters and lack of direction in the economy.
The Finance Minister indicated that government will leave no stone unturned to provide help to the farmers affected by the unseasonal rains in some parts of the country. Indicating that some more steps are in the pipeline for these farmers after discussion with the Prime Minister, Jaitley said that the government has already liberalized norms for assistance. He said the government will substantially increase investments in infrastructure particularly in rural areas as private investment has not picked up.
On checking black money, the Finance Minister said a multi-pronged strategy has been launched so that its generation and use will become extremely difficult. Criticising some political parties opposing the Land Acquisition Bill, Jaitley said these forces are against rural development. He rejected the criticism that social sector allocation has decreased saying that while investment has been increased the process has been changed.
