Venkaiah Slams Congress For Running Disinformation Campaign Through Falsehood.

Minister for Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu Wednesday alleged that the Congress was running a disinformation campaign through falsehood and appealed to all non-Congress parties not to fall prey to its obstructive tactics.
Addressing newsmen here,Naidu said the Congress, which ruined the nation during its fifty years rule, is now putting obstacles in the path of development by opposing all bills in the Rajya Sabha to ensure that the government does not succeed.
He said the non-Congress parties should understand the game plan of the Congress and play a constructive role by supporting the government’s effort of developing the country and cooperate in implementing the needed reforms.
Naidu said, during the UPA regime, the economy was in a shambles and the BJP government was trying to put it back on the rail by passing some bills like Land Acquisition bill, MMDR bill and launching various social sector schemes. ‘But the irresponsible Congress is opposing the bills in Rajya Sabha just because it has a majority,’ he rued.
He said non-Congress parties should see the reality and do not support the obstructive ways of the Congress. ‘If any party has any problem it could be solved through mutual discussion,’ Naidu remarked.
Highlighting the achievements of the Narendra Modi government during its one year rule, Naidu said the BJP government had provided more funds to the states and given them the liberty to plan their priorities.
The 14th Finance Commission had recommended 42 per cent of total central revenue to the states. All the states, including Odisha, would be benefited by it. The Union minister said the Land Acquisition bill 2015 was introduced as there were some shortcomings in the 2013 Land Acquisition Act.
As many as 28 states requested the Centre to amend the Land Acquisition Bill 2013 as they faced difficulties in acquiring land for undertaking developmental works like construction of roads, airport, railway line and road. The compensation amount in the bill had been increased four times and the states were given the options to adopt either the 2013 Land Acquisition Act or the 2015 one. But the Congress was opposing it for the sake of opposition, he said.
The government, the Minister said, would not acquire an inch of land for transferring to corporate sector as alleged by the Congress but would acquire land for developmental work. The Congress, he said, was talking about farmers but 1,60,000 farmers had committed suicide during the ten year rule of the UPA
