BJP Hits Out At Former PM Manmohan Singh
27 May, New Delhi
BJP has hit out at former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his allegation that NDA government is harping on corruption to divert people’s attention to non-issues.
The party today said Dr. Singh has broken his silence in self-defence as agencies like CAG,CBI and a recent publication revealed series of scams which had happened during the UPA regime. Party spokesman Sambit Patra said the former Prime Minister should have spoken when the irregularities took place but he remained silent.
Patra said had he spoken on the floor of Parliament and exposed those who were responsible, then it would have been a great service to the nation.
Patra said growth rate was down during UPA rule, inflation was high and there was policy paraysis. He said despite being a renowned economist Dr. Singh was unable to give direction to the economy.
Refuting the allegation of former Prime Minister that Make in India is a copy of UPA’s earlier programme, the spokesperson wondered if it is so, why is Congress criticising it
