Leopard Dies Inside Birsa Zoo

A 13-year-old leopard died today inside the Bhagwan Birsa Zoo situated at Ormanjhi in the district.

The leopard, Geeta, was brought from Junagarh in 2008.

Doctors who performed the post-mortem on her said that Geeta had died of heart failure and sub-acute hepatitis.

Her body was later buried inside the zoo premises.

Meanwhile, in Doranda village located under Dhanwar Police Station area of the Giridih district, two deers were found dead in mysterious circumstances by the villagers.

The villagers later informed the forest officials.

The bodies of both the deer have been taken by forest officials, however, they said that it was pre-mature to comment on the reason behind their death.
