India B’desh Sign Joint-Declaration Themed ‘Notun Projonmo’

India and Bangladesh have issued a joint declaration themed Notun Projonmo- Nayi Disha means New Generation- New Direction- highlighting bilateral cooperation.

In the statement both the Prime Ministers underscored the need to strengthen and reform multilateral financial institutions and enhancing the participation of developing countries in international economic decision making.

Both the leaders have welcomed the potential role of the New Development Bank and hoped that the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank may play in responding to needs of the developing countries.

In this connection, Prime Minister Modi took note of Bangladesh’s request to become a member of the New Development Bank in due course.

Modi has met leaders of different political parties including former Prime Minister Khalida Zia . The Prime Minister also met delegations of Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
