Budget Session of Odisha Assembly begins : Govt.Plans to generate 1.5 lakh government jobs over five years says Governor

The Budget Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly commenced on Thursday, with Governor Hari Bahu Kambhampati addressing the House. Beginning with the traditional “Jai Jagannath” greeting, he outlined the government’s core priorities, including poverty alleviation, youth employment, farmer welfare, and women’s empowerment.
The Governor in his address affirmed the state’s commitment to holistic development, ensuring economic growth, infrastructure expansion, and social welfare programs for Odisha’s progress.
Highlighting the policy programmes of the first BJP government in the state,the Governor said that Odisha would play key role in ‘Vikasit Bharat’ by 2047. The state is aligning with the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’, aiming for a ‘Bikasita Odisha by 2036’, he said.
He said as part of the women empowerment programme- over one crore women have been benefited from the Subhadra Yojana.
On New Education Policy Governor said Odisha seeks to solidify its place in India’s development landscape by implementing the NEP.
The Governor said Government has Plans to generate 1.5 lakh government jobs over five years, with 65,000 recruitments in the next two years.
Praising the Utkarsh Odisha Initiative of the Government he said ₹12.89 lakh crore MoUs were signed during the Utkarsh Odisha Conclave held last month.
