BSNL To Launch WIFI IN Puri Before Nabakalebar Festival Of Lord Jagannath

Odishs BSNL Telecom Circle Chief General Manager B N Mishra Monday said WIFI system will be launched in Puri before the Nabakalebar festival.

Mishra told newspersons here that work was going on in war footing from Bhubaneswar to Puri to provide trouble-free service to the customers.

The people of Puri would not face any problem during ‘Nabakalbera’festival, he assured.

The Chief General Manager was addressing a press conference here convened to announce the launching of free incoming calls in national roaming to BSNL Mobile customers of post paid and pre-paid customers from Monday.

The CGM said the BSNL landline/broadband service in Odisha grew by 15 to 20 per cent a month after the introduction of free night calling calls from 2100 hrs to 0700 hrs to any network since May one last.

Prior to the launch of the scheme the state has 303375 landline customers and after the introduction of the scheme around 2,250 connections were being added every month, he said.

During the past two years, the landline services in the state was getting withdrawn at the rate of 4,000 a month, the CGM said.

Replying to a question he said frequent call drops was not confined to BSNL alone.

Other operators were also facing the same problem due to disconnections of cable following large-scale digging work.

He hoped that the problem would be over after the work was completed.

Mishra said the BSNL announced free roaming for its pre-paid and post-paid mobile customers from today for a period of 365 days.

The BSNL customers shall not carry multiple SIMs and handsets during roaming.

It would benefit students and people having transferable jobs.

Mobile users of other operators interested to avail free roaming facility could port in to BSNL through MNP without changing their mobile numbers.
