Hockey: India Beat Britain 3-1 In Fourth Practice Match

Continuing their wining spree, Indian men’s hockey team outclassed Great Britain in their fourth practice match ahead of the Hockey World League Semi-Final here last night. India got off to a flying start as they slammed the goal in very first minute of the match.Midfielder Gurbaj Singh stormed into the opponents defence and hit the ball into the goal-box.

Continuing the attack, defender Devindar Sunil Walmiki extended the lead by 2-0when his shot found the nets during a raid in the 12th minute.

India then finally closed the door of Britain’s hope when forward player Akashdeep Singh scored the third goal for his team just after eight minutes and making it to 3-0. Britain scored the consolation goal in 28th minute and the match finished at 3-1 in favour of India.

India will open its campaign against France in the opener on June 20.
