BJP To Launch Year Long Agitational Programme Against Ruling BJD In Odisha

Odisha unit of the BJP will soon chalk out an year long agitational programme against the ruling BJD government headed by Naveen Patnaik in the state to expose its failure in all fronts.

Senior party leader Bijaya Mohapatra told newsperson Friday that the decision to launch the agitation was taken at a meeting held here yesterday attended by party leaders and all the candidates who had contested the last Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

Mohapatra said the party would focus on the deteriorating law and order situation, the drinking water problem and the health problem in the state besides the various scams surfaced during the last 15 years rule of the Naveen Patnaik government.

He said the party will organize protest meetings and demonstrations right from the block level to district level to expose the misdeeds of the BJD government.

Mohapata said the BJD government had spent Rs.4000 crore in drinking water and Rs.12000 crore in health sector during the last five years yet people in many places were dying of jaundice and deprived of minimum health care facilities.

The BJP leader said the law and order situation has come to such a precarious state that former Chief justice of Supreme Court G B Pattnaik has stated that he would be recruiting security personnel for his safety as the government had failed to provide security.
