Lalit Modi Controversy : Govt. Will Play By Rule Book Says Jaitley

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said that Government will play by rule book and make sure absolute standards of probity are maintained. . Jatley said this in San Fransico today, while responding to a question on the Lalit Modi controversy.

Jaitley said government has done nothing wrong and there is no question of going on the back foot.

The Finance Minister said Land, labour and taxation are three areas where reforms are absolutely necessary.

Talking about the steps taken by the present NDA government, he said aggression in tax policy has been subdued and taxation and structures are becoming lot more compatible and lot less adversarial.

He further said government will create a permanent consultation mechanism to address investors’ concerns and will provide globally compatible business environment.
