One Stop Centres To Be Set Up In Country For Distressed Women: Maneka

Union Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi Wednesday y said One Stop Centers would be set up in the country to help women in distress and to redress their grievances.

In Haryana, first such Centre would be set up at Karnal.Maneka Gandhi was speaking after inaugurating Nand Ghar, the first ultramodern Anganwadi Centre of the country at village Hasanpur in district Sonepat today.

This ultramodern Anganwadi Centre has been set up by Vedanta Group under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Mode. She said said that during the first year, 36 One Stop Centers would be set up in the country.

After examining these Centres for six months 660 more such Centres would be set up in the coming two years. Nand Ghar is the modern form of Anganwadi Centre which has been set up at a cost of Just Rs 12 lakh, she added.

Mrs Gandhi said, “It is like a miracle that this Centre has been completed within just 38 days and at such a cheap price Vedanta Group would construct as many as 4000 such centres in the country.” All kind of facilities have been provided in the Nand Ghar where the use of solar energy has also been ensured, she added
