FIR Filed Against Odisha CM For Falsely Implicating Former DGP In Financial Irregularities case
27 June, Bhubaneswar
An FIR was filed on Saturday in Capital Police station in Bhubaneswar against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and state Vigilance Director KB Singh for falsely implicating former Odisha Director General of Police Prakash Mishra in a financial irregularities case.
The complaint was filed by former MP and Utkal Bharat president Kharabela Swain. Prakash Mishra is presently serving the Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force.
The Odisha High Court on 20th of this month had quashed the state vigilance case against Mishra over allegations that he favoured some suppliers in 2009 during his tenure as the chairman-cum-managing director of the Odisha Police Housing and Welfare Corporation.
Earlier Swain demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the wake of recent Odisha High Court judgement quashing the FIR.
