Volcano Like Eruption In Jessami Block Of Manipur

The Manipur government has decided to stop people from going towards Old Wahong Village, Jessami block, Ukhrul district as the area is experiencing volcano like eruption.

The village has been seeing smoke and ashes which had disappeared for the past few years, however, recently more smoke were seen and there is no sign of the eruption cooling down so far.

A team of State Relief and Disaster department and experts from New Delhi were presently camping in the village to monitor the situation and find out the exact cause of the smoke.

Most of the villagers have stopped visiting the area due to fear and were planning to move away.

The site was quite small, however, it was feared that it may increase if the fire continues.
