Mosquito Breeding To Be Made Criminal Offence

The Health Department in Kerala has recommended criminal proceedings against those keeping their residences and surroundings dirty and unhygienic leading to mosquito breeding there.

Tough measures were being taken to prevent spread of dengue fever and other communicable diseases in the state. Health Minister V S Sivakumar sought stringent action against those failing to keep their premises clean.

Cases would be registered against individuals and business owners who keep their sorroundings dirty and unhygienic, official sources said here Saturday.

As part of the Safe Kerala campaign, health officials had visited all the houses in the state to examine the conditions.
