Goa To Host 12th International Symposium On Antarctic Earth Sciences

Goa will host the twelfth International Symposium on Antarctic Earth Sciences, from tomorrow organised by National Centre for Antarctic and Ocean Research, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India.

The five-day long Symposium will be inaugurated by Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences late this evening.

The themes for the Antarctic Symposium include among others Supercontinent Evolution, Surface Processes, Landscapes, Solid Earth Structure, Southern Ocean, and Evolution of Climate and the Global Cryosphere.

Union Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan will also visit Antarctic Research Centre at Vasco in the morning and inaugurate the newly created Isotrace Laboratory of the centre.
