PM Modi Unveils Statue Of Mahatma Gandhi In Bishkek

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the statue of Mahtama Gandhi in Bishkek Sunday evening amid huge public gathering. He was accompanied by Kyrgyz Prime Minister Temir Sariyev.

Addressing the gathering on this occasion Temir Sariyev said that the principles of love and non-violence of Gandhi has appealed to the ages and it will be relevant for the coming ages as well.

While PM Modi, amid rousing applause from people and mostly the Indian students who gathered to listen him, said that Gandhi was not a man who took birth for only one era rather his teachings backed by actions will always be relevant for all the times to come.

Mentioning two major threats of modern time- Climate Change and Terrorism, Modi said that it is only Gandhi among the great personalities of all time who addressed both of the problems through his deeds and teachings.

As soon as PM Modi reached the park where Mahatma Gandhi’s statue was to be unveiled, the crowd, mostly consisting Indian students, erupted in spontaneous applause making it more like a civic reception. PM addressed the gathering extempore attracting several rounds of thunderous applause and proud cry of Bharat Mata ki Jay.

Prior to it, PM inaugurated the first telemedicine link of central Asia in which a patient suffering from serious cardiac problem in Osh of Kyrgyzstan, was advised in real time by the doctors of AIIMS and Apollo hospitals.

His case history was digitally transferred by a special software known as E-Sanjeevani. Successfully completing the penultimate leg of his five nation tour of central Asia, PM Modi proceeded for Dushanbe leaving a message of friendship and love in Kyrgyzstan.
