PM Asks NDA MPs To Expose Congress On Parliament’s Disruption

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday directed NDA MPs to fan out across the country to expose the Congress for its disruptive stand in the Monsoon Session of Parliament.

Addressing the NDA MPs in New Delhi, Mr. Modi equated Congress action in Parliament with emergency saying the opposition party wanted power to be concentrated in one family.

Briefing reporters about the meeting, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Pratap Rudy quoted Mr Modi as saying that Congress wants to save the family while BJP wants to save the nation.

He said the Prime Minister asked NDA MPs and Ministers to hold protests across the country, especially targeting constituencies represented by Congress and Left MPs during a month-long campaign. Rudy said the Prime Minister reaffirmed government’s commitment to the welfare of the poor and deprived sections.

The Prime Minister also said the government is trying to resolve all pending disputes one after the other and highlighted the Naga peace accord and the land boundary pact with Bangladesh.

The NDA Parliamentary Party also passed a resolution against the disruption of the monsoon session by Congress and called upon the people to see the behaviour of the Congress.

Later, the NDA MPs took out a ‘Save Democracy March’ from Vijay Chowk to Mahatma Gandhi’s statue in Parliament complex. Senior BJP leader L K Advani and Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Venkaiah Naidu, Ram Vilas Paswan and leaders of NDA allies were among those who participated in the march.
