Sujata Mehta Made Secretary West In MEA

Senior diplomats Sujata Mehta and Preeti Saran have been made Secretary (West) and Secretary (East) respectively in the Ministry of External Affairs.
According to a release of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions here today, the Government also appointed Amar Sinha as Secretary (ER).
Ms Mehta, an Indian Foreign Service Officer (IFS) of 1980 batch is currently holding the post of Secretary (ER). She has been succeeded by Amar Sinha.
Sinha an IFS officer of 1982 batch is at present the Ambassador of India, Kabul.Ms Saran, who will take the charge of Secretary (East) is currently Ambassabor of India, Hanoi and is an IFS officer of 1982 batch, the release said.
