Congress questions on PM’s monogrammed suit gifted by businessman

Congress today questioned why such an expensive gift was given to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by NRI businessman Ramesh Bhikabhai Virani. Mr Virani had earlier said that he had gifted the monogrammed suit which the Prime Minister had worn during his meeting with US President Barack Obama in New Delhi last month. Party spokesperson Ajay Maken said the Prime Minister should explain why the man gifted the expensive suit and wondered how can such an expensive gift be called a private gift. He also wondered what Mr Virani was expecting out of the Prime Minister by doing so.
