ICC World Cup : New Zealand registers 3rd straight win, thrashes England by 8 Wicket

New Zealand Friday thrashed England by eight wickets in a Group A match in the ICC Cricket World Cup at Wellington .
New Zealand chased down a small target of 124 in the 13th over. Kiwi skipper Brendon McCullum posted the fastest ever World Cup half century off 18 balls smashing a quickfire 77 off just 40 balls.

Earlier, New Zealand put up an all-round clinical performance. New Zealand’s Tim Southee produced one of the greatest displays of bowling in a World Cup, as he rattled England with magical figures of 7 for 33 in to bundle out England for a paltry 123 in 33.2 overs. This is third best bowling performance in a World Cup.

Earlier, England won the toss and decided to bat first, but were restricted to a paltry score of 123.
