20 Feb, New Delhi
The Delhi Police has registered an FIR against the director-general of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) Rajendra K Pachauri, after a woman research analyst lodged a complaint alleging sexual harassment.
Though the FIR was lodged on Wednesday, Pachauri received interim relief from the Delhi High Court yesterday against his arrest enabling him to approach a lower court for anticipatory bail by February 23.
According to reports, the FIR alleges that Pachauri committed offences under various sections of IPC dealing with outraging the modesty of a woman, sexual harassment, stalking, and criminal intimidation.
The complaint against Pachauri, who is also a longtime director of the Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change, says, he started behaving inappropriately with the woman researcher in 2013.
