ICC World Cup : England beat Scotland by 119 runs

England beat Scotland by 119 runs in a Pool-A encounter in the ICC Cricket World Cup at Christchurch Monday ,

This was England’s first victory of the tournament in three games. Sent in to bat at the Hagley Oval, the English had compiled 303 for 8 in the allotted 50 overs.

Moeen Ali and Ian Bell shared 172 runs for the first wicket paving way for a mammoth English total. Moeen scored a blistering 128 off just 107 balls. Bell made 54.

In reply, Scotland were bundled out for 184 in 42.2 overs. Steven Finn claimed three wickets, while Moeen, James Anderson and Chris Woakes bagged 2 each. For Scotland, opener Kyle Coetzer top scored with 71.

Moeen was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant all-round performance

Tomorrow, Tuesday ,West Indies will take on Zimbabwe in a Group-B game at Canberra. The match will begin at 9 AM Indian Time.
