Pioneer of Mobile Theatre in Assam Adya Sharma Passes Away

A pioneer of mobile theatre in Assam, leading painter and sculpture artist Adya Sharma is no more.

Known to all as Guruji, 86 year old Sharma passed away Sunday evening at Nalbari. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and other leaders of various political parties have termed his death as an irreparable loss for Assam.

Before his last rites, thousands of locals and representatives of arts and cultural organisations paid floral tributes to Sharma this afternoon when his body was brought and kept at Natya Mandir, Laxmi Mandir and Arts school in Nalbari.
