U.K. Sinha Appointed As SEBI Chairman

The Government on Thursday issued a notification to reinstate U.K. Sinha as the chairman of Security and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

The Finance Ministry confirmed the news on their official Twitter handle.

UK Sinha, will, therefore remain the SEBI chairman till March 1, 2017 as the government had earlier on Monday extended his term by over a year.

During his tenure, the organisation has implemented a number of reforms in the capital markets, including regarding IPOs, mutual funds and corporate governance.
