Odisha: Five suspected SIMI members sent to 13-day remand

The Rourkela Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court on Thursday allowed the Special Task Force of Odisha Crime Branch to take five terror suspects linked with Students’ Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) on a 13-day remand.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA), the STF and police from other states will interrogate the arrested people.

Earlier on Wednesday, five terror suspects, including a woman, with links to the banned SIMI were arrested from a rented house here.

The operation was conducted by the Odisha Police in collaboration with Telangana Police and the Intelligence Bureau.
