Nitish Kumar government ‘sponsored’ attack on party office: BJP

BJP Thursday accused the Nitish Kumar government of “masterminding” the attack on its leaders and workers outside the state party office when they were trying to take out a march here in backdrop of JNU row.

State BJP president Mangal Pandey told newspersons here that “those holding power in the state were behaving like criminals by taking law into their own hands” and claimed that the conspiracy for attacking BJP leaders and workers was hatched at the state JD (U) office itself.

He said his party would lodge an FIR with the police station concerned in this connection since it could not afford to remain a mute spectator to such type of government sponsored attack.

He alleged that the JD (U) spokespersons even came in support of perpetrators of violence outside the state BJP office, proving the point that they were sent by ruling JD (U) and RJD to attack the BJP leaders and workers who had planned to take out a march in the state capital.

“Perpetrators of violence carrying flags of RJD, JD (U), AISF and AISA attacked BJP functionaries with bamboo sticks and glass bottles injuring them and also a mediaperson,” he claimed.

The BJP leader said the ruling parties were trying to choke the voice of the opposition by resorting to violent tactics but the BJP was also ready to give them a reply in a similar way.
