Health Minister Nadda Makes Statement in Parliament on Swine Flu Situation , Says All Necessary Assitance to States to dreaded disease

The Union Government Tuesday assured Parliament that the swine flu situation in the country is being closely monitored. The States are being provided all necessary assistance to combat the viral decease.

Making a statement, Health Minister J P Nadda informed the two Houses that adequate stocks of medicine, masks and personal protective equipment are available. All efforts are underway to deal with the situation effectively, he said.

Meanwhile , in Maharashtra , four more persons died of Swine Flu today taking the toll to 103 this year. Tuesday 42 new patients were found in the state taking total number of patients to 1055. Nearly half of them are from Pune. 318 patients are from Mumbai and 227 from Nagpur.

As on today 341 patients are being treated in various hospitals all over the state out of them condition of 46 is said to be critical.Till now 611 patients of swine flu are discharged from various hospitals after successful treatment.

In Jammu and Kashmir one more person died of swine flu in Kashmir Valley, taking the toll to six, with 15 more testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours. According to PRO , Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences(SKIMS) , Kulsoom Bhat one patient, who was admitted on February 9 as a case of Brain Haemorrhage but tested positive for H1N1 also, expired today.

She said 15 more patients have tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours taking the total number of infected persons since October last year to 153.
